The History of Bayorbor NHS
Bayorbor National High School was founded in 1970 upon the initiative of the late Quintin Magpantay and Eduardo Reyes. This institution was an answer to a long-felt need of the community as well as the municipality of Mataasnakahoy. During the infant years, the school had merited the appreciation and support of the parents, students and benevolent persons because of good quality education, experienced competent faculty members and administrators, its efficient and sound methods of instructions, its deep interest in training the individual to become upright patriotic Filipino citizens.
For twenty three (23) years, the school has been squatting in the Bayorbor Elementary School site. In 1987, Mrs. Minda S. Castillo, a secondary head teacher was designated and promoted to the position hence marked the beginning of her long aspiration to have a school site of its own. Since then the teaching staff, PTCA, Barangay Officials and student worked hard to solicit funds for the purchased amounting to Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PHP 300, 000.00), surveyed and titled in the name of the school. Working out further for the school improvement, Mrs. Minda S. Castillo was able to acquire one package of SEDP building and one classroom building in School Year 1993-1994.
