HISTORY OF BAYORBOR NHS
Bayorbor National High School was founded in 1970 upon the initiative of the late Quintin Magpantay and Eduardo Reyes. This institution was an answer to a long-felt need of the community as well as the municipality of Mataasnakahoy. During the infant years, the school had merited the appreciation and support of the parents, students and benevolent persons because of good quality education, experienced competent faculty members and administrators, its efficient and sound methods of instructions, its deep interest in training the individual to become upright patriotic Filipino citizens.
For twenty three (23) years, the school has been squatting in the Bayorbor Elementary School site. In 1987, Mrs. Minda S. Castillo, a secondary head teacher was designated and promoted to the position hence marked the beginning of her long aspiration to have a school site of its own. Since then the teaching staff, PTCA, Barangay Officials and student worked hard to solicit funds for the purchased amounting to Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PHP 300, 000.00), surveyed and titled in the name of the school. Working out further for the school improvement, Mrs. Minda S. Castillo was able to acquire one package of SEDP building and one classroom building in School Year 1993-1994.
The school's long history has indeed become its inspiration in achieving greater quality of education and in aspiring for more success in the future. It is situated in a lower barangay of Bayorbor, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas. The school site, with an area of more or less 6,000 square meters was purchased from a private owner. BNHS has been of its present site since September 12, 1993. Through the continuous and untiring effort of Mrs. Castillo who was the Principal I of the school in cooperation with the PTCA, Barangay Officials, students, teachers and the former Municipal Mayor of Mataasnakahoy, Mayor Celso Landicho, the following has been constructed in two months'time: the school fence and gate, pathways, flag pole, partial landscaping. The "Batangas Signature", Open School Canteen and Open canal. Funds used in said construction came from donations and fund raising projects. Through the leadership and eagerness of the said principal, the school was a recipient of USAID building, books from SAMASA and Air Book Foundation. The complete laboratory room, library THE building and equipment, toilets and water and electrical facilities.
Through the hardwork and dedication of Mrs. Lolita R. Orense, Principal III (November 1999 - October 2011), the institution gains more progress. the school is composed of two storey-building and fifteen (15) classrooms. It has a Science laboratory with almost complete laboratory apparatuses and equipment. Food and refreshment may be brought from the canteen. Sets of computers with printers and multimedia programs were provided for quality instruction. Connecting to the internet is also part of the plan to endow the needs of students in the modern world and technology. Due to increasing number of students, the library and HE rooms were utilized as classrooms. An open classroom for industrial arts was initiated by PTCA School Year 2003-2004 was built to house one class and at the same time used as Industrial Arts room. On 2006, the said room is transformed into a fully renovated and covered classroom for the convenience of students.
Covered court was extended to accommodate all students and even guests during completion and programs held in the school. Covered path walks were also built which are great convenience to all more especially during rainy days. Two classrooms was constructed through the help of GPTCA project. A second computer laboratory was created from the CICT School Project. Academic Parks are constructed like the Science, English and Mathematics. More instructional materials and equipment were acquired, kiosks were also constructed.
During the administration of Mrs. Marivic M. Dimaculangan, Principal II (October 3, 2011- May, 2012), continuous improvement and progress of the school was observed. Water purifier was constructed to help students drink safe water.
Through the perseverance, hard work and great commitment of its principal, Mrs. Annabelle E. De Roxas, the school continuously improving and gaining progress and innovating its facilities to serve better their clientele. Additional classrooms were constructed during the administration of Mrs. De Roxas, three storey building with six classrooms given by the Congressman of the Third District of Batangas, Hon. Sonny B. Collantes.
At present through the wholehearted dedicated, resilience, commitment and untoring initiative of Mr. Gregorio T. Mueco, the school gained honor and recognition not only in the Division of Batangas but also in the whole Region IV-A CALABARZON.
The school was awarded as the Best Brigada Eskwela impleter 2019 in the Division of Batangas Province and 3rd Brigada Eskwela Impleter in Region IV-A CALABARZON.
